We recommend using any kind of rod when going for Carp. What's really important is the kind of line. You're gonna need something that can withstand the force of a carp. I recommend using 15-30 pound test. That should be enough to handle the strength. Also keep in mind that you shouldn't only rely on the line but also use normal fishing techniques. With bait, Carp will literally eat anything that is not moving even top water. Corn or bread is highly recommended. Corn is what we use. We also get cracked corn and through some of that in as chum. After that you sit still, wait, and the fish will snag up the bait.
